At times I feel I won’t make it through,

No matter how hard I try.

But I must continue to trust in You

For my needs, You will supply.

Why? Because You say so!

When life deals me a tragic blow,

And I think I can’t face the trials.

I know that You will give me strength,

To walk the long, rough miles.

Why?  Because You say so!

When someone I love so dearly,

Hurts me deeply and breaks my heart.

I think, Oh God, can I accept this?

Yes, You’ll help me make a new start.

Why?  Because You say so!

When others with whom I have to deal,

Look down on me with distaste.

I’ll continue to love them as myself,

And through me they’ll see Your grace.

Why?  Because You say so!

When I find it hard to forgive others,

Who have treated me so unkind.

I know You won’t offer forgiveness to me,

Until I forgive and put all hurt behind.

Why?  Because You say so!

Throughout Your Book, it is written,

That I should only look above.

Then I can overcome any obstacle.

For You love me with an unfailing love.

Why?  Because You say so!
