These days we live in a “Martha” world.

Continually running to and fro.

Fretting about so many things,

Our frustrations begin to show.

So much to do, so little time.

Not enough hours in the day.

If we have a heart like “Martha”,

It’s essential we get away.

We need to go to our quiet place.

Jesus will meet us there.

He knows our need of His presence,

His love, compassion, and care.

Jesus desires time with us.

And we sorely need the rest.

He erases every worry and care.

His presence removes our stress.

The time we spend with Jesus,

Will renew and strengthen our soul.

He can give us a “Mary” heart,

But we must surrender control.

Jesus desires we give of ourselves,

And minister those in need.

It matters not which heart we have,

Either heart can plant the seed.

The seed of desire to know Him,

He, who died that all might live.

By putting faith and trust in Him,

All sins, He will forgive.

When we become a child of God,

Eternal life is our reward.

Forever in His presence,

Giving praises to our Lord.

But if we never take the time,

To fellowship with our Savior.

We, who are the salt of the earth,

Will begin to lose our flavor.

As His light in this lost and dying world,

We must always let it shine through.

Lord, give us a “Mary” heart,

For that heart stays focused on You.
