We attend church each Sunday morning.

We all sit in the very same place.

We joyfully sing the songs of praise,

We each have a smile upon our face.

We cheerfully greet others around us.

We pray when we’re called upon.

By being there each Sunday morning,

We feel honor to God we’ve shown.

On Sunday nights our pews are empty,

For we never bother to attend.

We feel we’ve done our Christian duty,

For that hour with God we did spend.

Our Bible we carried Sunday morning,

Is laid aside without a thought.

During the week, it only gathers dust,

It’s never opened and God’s Word sought.

We’re too tired to attend on Wednesday,

For at work, it’s been a rough week.

We don’t participate in church functions.

Time with worldly people instead we seek.

Throughout the week we never pray,

When we arise or when we lie down.

In fact, God never enters our mind,

Until a problem we can’t solve is found.

Then we cry out to God and ask Him,

“Why am I facing all of this strife?

You know I am a good Christian,

I attend church; I live a good life”.

We as Christians must understand,

God expects from us more than an hour.

He desires to be number-one in our life,

So through us He can show His power.

Don’t be just a Sunday morning Christian.

For God has work for His children to do.

We need to be an active part of His church.

Not just others, but you and me, too.

What a terrible example we are setting,

When those who are lost see how we act.

How can they possibly see us as Christians,

When our own lives don’t reflect this fact.

To give God the honor and glory He wants,

We as Christians must abide in His will.

He has a purpose for each of our lives,

By submitting to Him, it will be fulfilled.
